I live in Boulder, Colorado.  In 2013, our waterways swelled, expanding their borders and taking out hundreds of trees, not to mention people’s homes and possessions. When covid-19 kept me from my shared studio, I decided to photograph the tangles of downed trees, shrubs, and new growth in areas hit hard by the flood. As I searched for these images, I was awakened anew to the exquisite beauty of trees, the graceful gestures of branches, and the tender colors of new growth.
